IT Portfolio Management: Unlocking the Business Value of Technology (John Wiley and Sons Inc, 2005)

If you are looking for a proven framework for managing the IT requirements for a complex business this book provides a good framework.  Despite being published in 2005 before several more recent technology led trends such as cloud and mobile,  the fundamentals of managing a IT portfolio have not changed.

If IT is perceived as a cost centre and you are struggling to get executive alignment and buy in to the potential value of IT in the business,  this book provides some good advice – for example how to position IT investments in business language,  how to allocate restricted IT budgets to the most strategic projects and so on.
